ED Prime Glass and Fully multi-coated Lenses

Glass is what makes binoculars tick. Premium ED glass ensures color fidelity and high light transmission. Along with the multi-coated lenses and the phase-corrected BaK-4 Roof Prism System, the Legend Ultra HD delivers bright and contrast-rich images even in low light conditions during dawn or dusk.

Magnification and Aperture

The 42mm lens is large enough to collect enough light even in low light conditions. The exterior lens anti-reflection coating and the newly developed Rainguard HD also improve light transmission.

The Binocular’s power of 10x magnifies distant objects as if they were only a tenth of the distance away. This makes it easier to see small wildlife in detail and to identify bird species.

High magnification is at the expense of the field of view, however, 340 feet at 1000 yards still let you scan a large enough area to quickly find what you are looking for.

Eyecups and Eye relief

The twist-up eyecups provide for the right distance of the instrument to the eye the see the full projected image while keeping stray light out.

If you have to wear glasses while looking through binoculars, then an eye relief that is not too short is important for viewing comfort. The eye relief of 15 mm offered by the Bushnell Legends Ultra HD 10×42 should be sufficient for most people who wear glasses.

Center Focus

The large center focus wheel of the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD binoculars takes about 1.5 revolutions to go from close focus to infinity, which is a bit more than the usual one turn it takes to adjust the focus.

Waterproof and Fog proof

For hikers, walkers, birdwatchers, and outdoor enthusiasts, there is no bad weather, just bad gear. Fortunately, the  Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 10×42 binoculars are water and fog-proof, so whether it be rain or temperature fluctuations thanks to an O-ring sealed and nitrogen purged magnesium chassis moisture and water got no chance.

The exteriors lenses Rainguard HD coating has a water-repelling effect and lets water droplets bead up and run off providing a clear unobstructed view.

Lightweight

Despite the high-quality optical glass, these binoculars weigh just around 23 ounces/700 grams. The light magnesium chassis has contributed to this. So compact and lightweight, the instrument can be carried in a rucksack or around the neck without being much of a hindrance.
